Learn What A Day In The Life of One of Our Technicians Is Like

B&B Door Company has been providing South Florida businesses with unparalleled door services since 1986. As a commercial-only door company, we have the privilege of staffing our team with experienced technicians who are highly trained to service our clients, not subcontractors! In this article, we want to introduce one of those such technicians, and give you a sneak peek of what a typical day is like for him.

Sean Davidson has been an employee at B&B Door Company for the past 3 years. When he initially saw the application to become a Technician at B&B Door Company, he immediately thought it would be a good fit. Before joining our team, he had worked at another company where he gained some experience with doors.

Since then Sean has thoroughly enjoyed working at B&B Door Company since the job keeps him “constantly busy”. In fact, he remarked, “Celso is one of the best bosses I’ve worked for…. it’s very enjoyable to work with him and I enjoy seeing different things every day.” To date, he has benefited from a few training opportunities including one in Wisconsin for high-speed doors and another in Texas at Door Controls for automatic doors.

So what do most of these ‘busy’ days look like? It all starts at 7:30 a.m at the B&B Door Company warehouse. While each day is no doubt different in terms of the types of calls received, a regular day usually involves driving around in Miami, South FL traffic, working in the heat and dealing with a lot of heavy equipment, tools and machinery. The projects can take Sean anywhere from construction sites to logistics warehouses, shipping and receiving delivery places to stadiums (American Airlines Arena, Miami Marlins Park, Dolphins Hard Rock Stadium), and hotels on the beach to car dealerships. Sean’s day can end anywhere from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm depending on the day’s emergencies, tasks and how far away his last call is from home since he usually drives straight home after his last call. Despite this, he loves working at B&B Door Company because of the family atmosphere.

“All the people that are hired are close with each other, they all have a good work ethic, are very respectful to those around them and working with Celso… He makes things a lot easier. He’s a very understanding guy. You can always go to him with questions, he never gives you any sort of attitude and that trickles down to everyone else that works here. They all work the same type of way.” – Sean Davidson.

When he’s not at the warehouse or driving through the streets of Miami to his next call, Sean enjoys boating, fishing, attending sports events and hanging out with friends. Sean’s family is small and includes his wife of 3 & ½ years and his daughter Lola who happens to be a beagle! He has a great relationship with his family and tries to spend as much time with them as he can. He credits his dad and mom for molding him into the person he is today.

Being a Technician surely isn’t easy, but it’s the career Sean enjoys and sees himself doing for another 5 years and beyond. Sean enjoys the everyday challenge and being able to satisfy customers. We are certainly very happy to have Sean on board the B&B Door team. We also look forward to many more years of quality and fast service for our clients.
